ShareStream is growing rapidly and is seeking a DevOps Engineer who can make our talented and dedicated engineering team even better. We are seeking someone with real vision, who can take our engineering operations environment to the next level, allowing our team to deploy, test and ship releases more efficiently. This job is ideal for a generalist with a strong technical background who loves working in a startup environment, learning about new technologies and contributing in more than one area (i.e., automation, deployment and system administration).
- Contribute to creating an engineering operations environment that allows our team to rapidly deploy and operate more efficiently
- Lead engineering operations for our continuous integration and build automation tools
- Manage and monitor ShareStream’s application and infrastructure, including service availability and system and data backups
- Deploy and update ShareStream instances
- Tune ShareStream systems for optimized performance
- Mentor developers on engineering operations best practices
- Experience in engineering opps for a massive-scale web application
- Expert-level UNIX/Linux skills
- Strong working knowledge of Java
- Expert in at least one scripting language (PHP, BASH, Perl, Python or Ruby)
- Extensive experience working in a fast-moving startup environment
- Extensive experience working with AWS or another cloud platform
- Expert working with tools that monitor service and infrastructure availability
- Strong knowledge of system and data-backup tools and best practices
- Experience with open source continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins
- Experience with build automation tools.
- Experience with configuration-management tools, such as Chef or Puppet
- Experience working with load-testing tools, such as JMeter
- Experience with Cybersecurity
