About the position:

 

ShareStream is seeking an experienced and multi-talented Senior Software Engineer (Sustaining) who excels at investigating and resolving technical issues and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer success. ShareStream is seeking candidates who can grow professionally with the Company and take on positions of greater seniority, either in Sustaining Engineering, Product Development, or Professional Services.

 

The Senior Software Engineer (Sustaining) will work remotely as a member of ShareStream’s Engineering team. Candidates for this position must be based in the U.S.

  • Debug, diagnose, and document the root cause of technical issues
  • Develop software patches and new features
  • Identify opportunities for optimizations that improve application performance and/or lower product maintenance costs
  • Work closely with ShareStream Account Managers and Product-Development Engineers on prioritizing technical issues and feature-enhancement requests
  • Collaborate with clients’ project leads to ensure that client needs are met
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge of ShareStream’s applications and code base
  • Contribute to ShareStream’s internal documentation and knowledge base for technical support and engineering operations
  • Assist with software engineering on ShareStream’s core applications
  • 5+ years experience in an application support or a sustaining engineering role using Java in web applications
  • Extensive experience as a customer-facing engineer for a B2B software company
  • Intermediate-level Java skills
  • Intermediate-level UNIX/Linux skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving, debugging and log-analysis skills
  • Exceptional software-development habits (use of unit tests, code documentation, etc.)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working in a fast-moving startup environment is a strong plus.
